Starting his musical journey at the age of 5 as a classical pianist, Lucas supposedly "got bored of playing other people's music", thus beginning his journey as his own composer and eventually songwriter. At the age of 13, Lucas' work titled, "Fanfare for the World" for brass quintet earned him a spot as a state winner and Top 10 national finalist in the Junior Division of the annual MTNA Composition Competition.
Starting in high school, Lucas branched out to more contemporary genres and honed his creative improvisational techniques playing keys in various pop/rock/jazz ensembles. He continued his musical education through a 5-year dual-degree program between Harvard University and the Berklee College of Music, studying piano, voice, songwriting, and music production at Berklee while immersing himself in music-related extracurricular groups at Harvard ranging from musical theater to choir, recording studio, radio station, music therapy, and more.
Throughout his musical journey, Lucas has had extensive experience performing on all kinds of stages, from student music festival venues (Endada, Arts First) to restaurants, cafés, bars, hotels, nursing homes, beach clubs, and even an Axe Throwing venue (luckily, he played well enough that he did not get axed off the stage)!
